Quick answer: CheapOair’s headline fares often look lower at first glance, but the final price depends on which add-ons get bundled in during checkout. Metairfare quotes one all-in price over phone or WhatsApp before you book, so there’s no checkout surprise to compare against.

What is CheapOair, and how does it work?

CheapOair is a self-serve online travel agency owned by Fareportal, one of the larger travel-technology companies in North America (it also owns OneTravel). You search, pick a fare, and complete checkout yourself on the website or app. CheapOair.ca has built up a large review base — more than 7,400 reviews on Trustpilot — reflecting how many Canadians use it for international bookings, India routes included.

Does CheapOair add fees after the headline fare?

Often, yes. Like most bucket-shop-style OTAs, CheapOair’s checkout flow presents optional add-ons — seat selection, baggage protection, a “travel care” or cancellation-waiver package — before you reach the final payment screen. None of these are hidden exactly, but the headline search-results price and the price you actually pay at checkout can differ meaningfully once you’ve clicked through a few upsell screens. A recurring theme across independent review roundups of CheapOair is confusion over what a specific booking’s add-ons actually cost versus what the airline itself would have charged directly.

What does Metairfare offer that a self-serve OTA doesn’t?

Booking a long-haul Canada–India itinerary (almost always one stop, via a Gulf or European hub) has more failure points than a short domestic hop: tight connection windows, visa-adjacent document questions, and fare rules that vary by carrier. Metairfare’s agents handle Canada-India routes specifically and are reachable by phone and WhatsApp before and after booking — if a connection changes or a flight is delayed, you’re talking to someone who already knows your itinerary, not restarting a support ticket with a general-purpose call center.

Metairfare has built a 5.0 rating across 750+ Google reviews and more than 2,000+ Trustpilot reviews, with Canada-India travellers specifically citing the phone support during itinerary changes as the reason they rebook through us.

Is CheapOair safe to book with?

Yes — CheapOair is a large, established agency and not a scam. The caution worth having isn’t about legitimacy, it’s about checkout discipline: read each add-on screen before accepting it, and compare the final total (not just the search-results headline price) against a direct quote before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CheapOair cheaper than Metairfare for Canada-India flights?

CheapOair’s displayed base fare is sometimes lower, but its checkout flow adds optional extras that can close or reverse that gap by the final payment screen. Metairfare quotes one all-in number upfront, so the two aren’t always comparing the same thing.
</details>

Who owns CheapOair?

CheapOair is owned by Fareportal, a travel-technology company that also operates OneTravel.
</details>

Does CheapOair charge a booking fee?

CheapOair’s checkout can include optional add-ons (seat selection, baggage protection, cancellation waivers) that aren’t part of the headline search-results fare. Review the checkout total, not just the initial price shown, before paying.
</details>

Can I call CheapOair for support after booking?

CheapOair offers phone support, though as a high-volume self-serve OTA its agents are not specialized by route. Metairfare’s phone and WhatsApp support is specific to Canada-India itineraries.
</details>
